The group was set up in 2010 as North Mancester and Bury Lymphoma Support Group but we have renamed our group to reflect the geographical representation of our members and the footprint of the NHS Trust where most of our members received care and treatment.
We are an informal group where attendance at meetings is normally about 15 people. Meetings are held at the Middleton Masonic Hall, Manchester Old Road, Middleton. Meetings are normally held every six weeks.
The purpose of the group is to provide support to individuals who have been affected by lymphoma either themselves or by supporting somebody with the disease. Everyone is welcome to join our group irrespective of the hospital you attend or treatment received.
At meetings we allow members of the group to sit and talk about their feelings or just listen to others, the choice is theirs.
We occasionally have visits from health profeesionals and guest speakers who provide information and advice on matters relating to lymphoma. We also hold fundraising events to support our groups activities and agreed causes.
